dc.description.abstract | Today, translation has become an important tool to communicate with people from different countries and institutions such as Medicine which is a Department that needs translators to translate its medical texts. For this reason, this guided work is concerned with the translation of medical texts during six months for this institution. Besides, it was established an agreement between Linguistics and Languages Department and Medicine Department to do this work.
This work is divided in four chapters that describe the process carried out for doing the work. In the first chapter, it is explained the institution background and needs. In the second chapter, it is described the background, justification, objectives, registers, strategies of action, and plan of action. In the third chapter, it is shown the sequence of activities where data recognition, first draft, second draft, edition, and selection of the medical terms for the glossary are described. Moreover, the achievements and experiences are mentioned in that chapter; besides, the procedures, translation analysis, and examples are explained in detail. Also, there are examples from the glossary of specialized medical terms and acronyms in order to show how they are structured. Furthermore, the conclusion and recommendations are developed in the last chapter. Finally, in the appendix, there are some samples from the Source Language (SL) and Target Language (TL) texts, glossary, and the agreement. | es_ES |
