This paper is about the designing of a Humanistic technical high school graduation (BTH) syllabus design for the Interpreter and Translator career in English at the American Institute High School. In this paper, the main steps in curriculum design in order to design a syllabus were taken into account. This curriculum design embraces the policy of the educational system in Bolivia under the framework of the Educational Law 077, the rule system of the BTH, the cultural and educational characteristics of the American Institute High School and the perceptions of students and parents as to the economical potentials and properties of our educational institution. The syllabus encompasses the selection and grading of instructional contents of the Interpreter and Translator career in English for Sophomore, Junior and Senior at Amerinst High School (4th, 5th and 6th Secondary). These contents are organized in four main subjects developed in each year: English Language & Grammar, Lexicology & Phraseology, Culture & Literature and Translation Techniques, taking into account the levels of English prescribed by the CEFR (4th secondary was assigned with B1+; 5th Grade, B2; and 6th grade, C1) and the teaching workload. At the beginning of the paper an analysis of the work experience, period of work activity, institutions where the work activity was carried out and the positions held by my person are succinctly described in order to provide context and background to the BTH project in the implementing the career of Interpreter and Translator at the American Institute.
