Resumen. Lung diffusing capacity (DLCO) was measured using a steady state method in high (3600 m.) and sea level natives. Correlation was found between DLCO, height, age and haemoglobin concentration. Regression coefficients of DLCO with height and age were not significantly different in the two groups of subjects but influence of haemoglobin concentration was greater at 3600 m. than at sea level. From the two relation ships, normal values have been calculated. DLCO was greater in highland natives that in sea level natives for given height, age and haemoglobin concentration. This difference is discussed.es_ES
