The bark of Bolivian Duguetia spixiana (Annonaceae) has yielded 19 isoquinoline alkaloids, 6 of which are new. The main alkaloids belong to the 7-hydroxyaporphine type, among them, the previously undescribed roemerolidine, nornuciferidine, rurrebanine, and rurrebanidine. The other new alkaloids, spiguetine and spiguetidine, belong to the novel azahomoaporphine type. The different alkaloid composition of D. spixiana from Colombia and Bolivia is discussed.
